This is a fantastic full set Rolex Submariner Reference 5513 manufactured in 1968. The meters first dial is all original and in excellent condition with lovely creme colored lume on the dial and hands. The case on this piece is also very strong with the facets on the lugs still intact. According to the original papers, this watch was sold in 1970. The original Rolex stainless steel rivet oyster bracelet is also marked 1970 on the inside of the clasp. This is a full set with its original inner and outer box, Rolex calendar card from 1969/1970 and its original Rolex guarantee. Always so nice to find a great original condition watch fully complete with box's and papers.

The Rolex Submariner

The Rolex Submariner is without a doubt one of the most successful Rolex models in history. Not only because it more than aptly served its purpose as diver’s watch, although I am pretty sure only a small number of Submariners has ever seen a spat of water. Its appearance in several James Bond movies certainly helped as well. If you omit functionality and marketing, the Submariner success is mainly due to its elegance as a timeless dress watch. It’s just one of those watches you keep looking at, regardless of wanting to know the time of day. The Submariner was launched in 1953 and officially presented at the Basel Fair in 1954.
