Description

An exceptional Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 6265 in 18K yellow gold, dating to 1984 and offered with its original box and punched papers. The watch is presented in fantastic condition and appears to have seen very little use. The case has undergone only one light polish years ago during its last service and remains thick and sharp, retaining strong and well-defined proportions. The champagne dial is close to perfect, beautifully preserved with its original luminous material and matching hands. Originally purchased in Naples, Italy, the watch is fitted with a leather strap and an 18K gold Rolex buckle. It is accompanied by its original box and original punched papers dated 1985. Combining the sporty character of the Daytona with the elegance of yellow gold, this reference offers a striking and timeless presence on the wrist. A highly attractive and increasingly sought-after configuration, representing a rare and compelling opportunity for collectors.

DAYTONA BEACH 1960

Birth of a Horological Icon Timepiece  The myth around the iconic Rolex Daytona has spread around the world recent years. Always has the Daytona model been attached to motor racing, at first Rolex called their new Cosmograph the “Le Mans” and little later to “Daytona” when Rolex started to sponsor the well known U.S. speedway.
Cosmograph: a name that was to be the forerunner of great fortune. Actually, the choice of the name proved to be neither easy nor expected. Whilst Rolex on the one hand flirted with the car-racing world, on the other hand it could not remain unaware of the vast media attention, which at that time was surrounding the conquest of outer space.
