Stainless steel Rolex Daytona ref. 6239. This watch exemplifies how vintage timepieces should be found—original in every part and well-preserved in its authentic condition. This 1968 Rolex Daytona 6239 has been carefully used over the years, maintaining a robust case with its original contours and shapes. The dial remains in excellent condition, retaining all its original lume plots. The correct "300 units" bezel from this period further enhances its authenticity. The folded bracelet, stamped with the 4-67 year code, is in very good overall condition and features the rare 71N end links. Powered by the reliable manual-winding caliber 722 movement, this early Daytona is a true collector's piece. For those seeking an iconic vintage Daytona, this example is one not to miss.

Always has the Daytona model been attached to motor racing, at first Rolex called their new Cosmograph the “Le Mans” and little later to “Daytona” when Rolex started to sponsor the well known U.S. speedway.
Cosmograph: a name that was to be the forerunner of great fortune. Actually, the choice of the name proved to be neither easy nor expected. Whilst Rolex on the one hand flirted with the car-racing world, on the other hand it could not remain unaware of the vast media attention, which at that time was surrounding the conquest of outer space.
