18K gold Rolex Datejust ref. 1600. A very attractive and all-original gold Rolex Datejust from 1967. This piece features a beautiful white dial with wide hour markers, giving it a distinctive and elegant presence. The watch is in excellent overall condition, with a strong, unpolished case. The dial remains exceptionally well preserved, with all lume plots intact and perfectly matching the original hands. Likely originally ordered to client specification, the watch is fitted with a gold President bracelet stamped 1969, which remains in very good condition and reflects minimal wear over the years. Powered by the reliable self-winding calibre 1570 movement, this is a particularly appealing Datejust. Combined with the iconic President bracelet, it is a striking and highly desirable piece that is sure to capture the attention of discerning collectors.

THE FIRST DATEJUST 1945

The year 1945 saw the birth of the Datejust, the first self‑winding wrist chronometer to indicate the date in a window on the dial. A watch of great distinction, the Datejust was equipped with a Jubilee bracelet created specially for it and a fluted bezel, making it immediately recognisable as a Rolex. It is the pillar of the Oyster collection. Initially for men, it became available in various models for women in the course of the following decade.
