18K gold Rolex Datejust ref. 1600. A stunning 1966 example featuring an exceptional gilt dial and a full set. This watch is in very good condition and has been professionally polished to restore its original finish. The Jubilee bracelet is stamped with the 1966 year code and shows minimal stretch. The black dial remains in excellent condition with all original lume. Powered by the self-winding Caliber 1570, it comes complete with the original box and papers dated 1972. Originally produced in 1966, this piece was sold several years later in Spain in March 1972, where it remained with its original owner ever since. A rare opportunity to own a beautifully preserved vintage Datejust, don’t let it slip away.

THE FIRST DATEJUST 1945

The year 1945 saw the birth of the Datejust, the first self‑winding wrist chronometer to indicate the date in a window on the dial. A watch of great distinction, the Datejust was equipped with a Jubilee bracelet created specially for it and a fluted bezel, making it immediately recognisable as a Rolex. It is the pillar of the Oyster collection. Initially for men, it became available in various models for women in the course of the following decade.
