Description

18K gold Rolex Daytona ref. 6265. A stunning example of the Rolex Daytona ref. 6265 in 18K yellow gold, featuring an elegant champagne dial. Dating to 1977, this watch is preserved in exceptional, New Old Stock (N.O.S.) condition. The case remains untouched, retaining its original factory sticker on the caseback, and is paired with a flawless, highly attractive dial. It is fitted with an 18K gold Rolex ref. 7205 bracelet with 57 end links, correctly stamped with a 1977 date code. We believe the watch was originally delivered on a leather strap, with the bracelet likely added by the retailer at the time of sale at the client’s request. The condition of both the case and bracelet is perfectly consistent, reflecting minimal use, and the watch was acquired directly from its original owner in this configuration. Originally purchased in Spain, the watch is offered as a full set, including its original box, booklets, wallet, and punched papers. Powered by the manual-winding calibre 727, this is a dream-condition example for the most discerning collectors—an outstanding illustration of Rolex’s exceptional manufacturing quality in the 1970s.

DAYTONA BEACH 1960

Birth of a Horological Icon Timepiece  The myth around the iconic Rolex Daytona has spread around the world recent years. Always has the Daytona model been attached to motor racing, at first Rolex called their new Cosmograph the “Le Mans” and little later to “Daytona” when Rolex started to sponsor the well known U.S. speedway.
Cosmograph: a name that was to be the forerunner of great fortune. Actually, the choice of the name proved to be neither easy nor expected. Whilst Rolex on the one hand flirted with the car-racing world, on the other hand it could not remain unaware of the vast media attention, which at that time was surrounding the conquest of outer space.
