Description
Stainless steel Rolex Daytona “Paul Newman” ref. 6241. An iconic and highly collectible Rolex Daytona reference 6241, featuring the coveted “Paul Newman” dial. Produced only between 1965 and 1968, it is estimated that approximately 3,000 examples were made — making this reference exceptionally rare and desirable among collectors. This particular 1968 example features the highly sought-after black dial with black bezel configuration. The case has been professionally polished, yet remains thick and well-defined. Adding further rarity, it is fitted with an expandable Oyster rivet bracelet, reference 6635 with 71 end links, stamped 1968 — a seldom-seen combination for this model — and in very good condition. The dial is in excellent condition, displaying only minimal signs of age with all lume plots fully intact. The black acrylic bezel also remains in good condition, showing only light wear consistent with careful use. Powered by the manual-winding Caliber 722-1 movement, with a correctly numbered 6241 caseback, this watch represents the perfect balance of rarity, condition, and aesthetic appeal. A truly captivating piece — the striking black-on-black color scheme combined with the Paul Newman tri-color dial ensures this watch stands out effortlessly on the wrist. Rarely do examples of this quality surface. A superb opportunity for the discerning collector.
