Stamp Dimensions: 40 mm Watch Movement: Self-Winding Bracelet/Strap: Two-Tone Bracelet Box/Paper: Handmade Travel Pouch Condition: Original Condition, Some Hairline Scratches Consistent with Age SKU: 173114 In addition to being in fantastic condition with original caseback sticker and thick case, this two-tone Rolex Daytona Ref. 16523 features an extremely rare dial with a few notable details. First, is the "Floating" Cosmograph dial, where Rolex printed the 5th line of text slightly lower that the previous 4. The second is the rare Tiffany & Co. stamp just below that. This stamp is rarely seen on Zenith Datyonas and comes off almost foggy in comparison to the crisp printing of the other Rolex text. This style is typical of the few Tiffany & Co. "L series" Daytonas that have been seen.  Truly a rare opportunity at a collectors Rolex Daytona.

DAYTONA BEACH 1960

Birth of a Horological Icon Timepiece  The myth around the iconic Rolex Daytona has spread around the world recent years. Always has the Daytona model been attached to motor racing, at first Rolex called their new Cosmograph the “Le Mans” and little later to “Daytona” when Rolex started to sponsor the well known U.S. speedway.
Cosmograph: a name that was to be the forerunner of great fortune. Actually, the choice of the name proved to be neither easy nor expected. Whilst Rolex on the one hand flirted with the car-racing world, on the other hand it could not remain unaware of the vast media attention, which at that time was surrounding the conquest of outer space.
