Description

Rolex Day-Date reference 18048 Diamonds and Rubies

This Day-Date has an exceedingly rare engraved and diamond pavé dial and is in mint, unpolished condition. These Day-Date reference 18048 models had a variety of designs in terms of dial, including the use of different stones such as sapphires and rubies. In a quick search, I have not found another dial exactly like this one and the craftsmanship is exquisite. This watch includes original box, papers including guarantee, and hangtag, has an automatic movement (Caliber 3055 made by Rolex), and is 36mm in diameter. The 9.0 million serial dates its production to circa 1986. Price: $32,000

THE DAY-DATE 1956

In 1956, the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date made its debut. Available only in 18 ct gold or platinum, it was the first wristwatch to display the date and day of the week spelt out in full in a window on the dial. With the President bracelet, originally created specially for it, the Day-Date continues to be the watch par excellence of influential people.

LEADERSHIP

Rolex watches have long been associated with those who have, over time, guided the destiny of the world. No matter their vision, their domain of excellence, or their achievements, the one thing these exceptional men and women have in common is often their watch: the Day-Date.
