Year 1977   Serial 4,03XXXX   Dial Stunning original serif matte dial is in excellent condition with a fantastic heavy yellow patina, the dial shows some tiny spots that is only visible at certain angles in bright light, the original hands have been relumed to match the dial perfectly.   Movement Rolex 1520   Case Original case has been expertly detailed to near factory spec by our watchmaker. the edges remain sharp and crisp. Original bezel and insert in perfect condition., domed glass and triple-lock crown.   Bracelet Comes on original Rolex Oyster folded bracelet 9315/580 in excellent condition and with minimal stretch.   Accessories Original paper, Rolex hang tag with serial number.   Comments Maybe one of the best example of the always classic Submariner 5513 on the market !!!!! A pure Vintage that looks great and has all the attributes that you’d want from a vintage Sub.

The Rolex Submariner

The Rolex Submariner is without a doubt one of the most successful Rolex models in history. Not only because it more than aptly served its purpose as diver’s watch, although I am pretty sure only a small number of Submariners has ever seen a spat of water. Its appearance in several James Bond movies certainly helped as well. If you omit functionality and marketing, the Submariner success is mainly due to its elegance as a timeless dress watch. It’s just one of those watches you keep looking at, regardless of wanting to know the time of day. The Submariner was launched in 1953 and officially presented at the Basel Fair in 1954.
