Description

British Racing Green       - Stella dials are known to have been produced in the 1970s and 1980s but very few know that there was a later batch ranging into the Double Quick era after 1989. These have appeared mainly in the Serial range S and W dating them to 1993-1995. This later batch is known to have a more flat finishing and have only been produced in very few colors. One of them is the British Racing green, a very dark green color when compared to the earlier produced green Stellas. Here is a super crisp 18248 Day Date bearing such a British Green Stella dial. The best word to describe the condition of this dial is flawless. The dial is free of any sort of aging, bubbles, scratches, hairlines or tool marks and bears original tritium lumes with matching hands. The gilt graphics enhance the aesthetics of this very royal looking color. The case and bracelet of this 18248 are in mint and possibly unpolished condition showing factory finishing. The gold has beautifully aged to a rosy color giving this watch a super warm character. The British racing Green Stella is a very rare and prominent color and we are happy to offer it here in astonishing condition.

THE DAY-DATE 1956

In 1956, the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date made its debut. Available only in 18 ct gold or platinum, it was the first wristwatch to display the date and day of the week spelt out in full in a window on the dial. With the President bracelet, originally created specially for it, the Day-Date continues to be the watch par excellence of influential people.

LEADERSHIP

Rolex watches have long been associated with those who have, over time, guided the destiny of the world. No matter their vision, their domain of excellence, or their achievements, the one thing these exceptional men and women have in common is often their watch: the Day-Date.
