Starry Sky - this Rolex Day Date 18038 from 1986 is one hell of a watch. It houses a beautiful original Lapis dial, maybe one of the most beautiful examples we have seen. The dial has a very strong and consistent blue color with areas of gold sparkles. The color in the sunlight is just stunning and blends beautifully with the golden case. Further the dial is correctly signed T Swiss T featuring also matching Tritium hands. The overall condition of the watch is very good, strong case with a bracelet that is not showing much wear from age. To make this a bit more attractive, the watch comes with box and Rolex Service papers. If you look up the Lapis Day Date on the internet, you will see that most of the examples are marked 'Custom' the reason is that real examples are extremely hard to find.
