Description
Grey Buckley - Buckley dials are beautiful with their bold painted Roman numerals. We see them coming in different colors, white, black, blue, brown, gold and grey, if we remember correctly. The example offered dates back to 1974 and is fitted with a grey Buckley dial, in our humble opinion, one of the nicest colors in the range. The very prominent white painted numerals create a very elegant, yet timeless look, its something else. When exposed to daylight, the color palette ranges from light grey over to anthracite and even black. The black & white look on this 1603 won't go unnoticed, in fact, this dial is always a conversation topic.

The year 1945 saw the birth of the Datejust, the first self‑winding wrist chronometer to indicate the date in a window on the dial. A watch of great distinction, the Datejust was equipped with a Jubilee bracelet created specially for it and a fluted bezel, making it immediately recognisable as a Rolex. It is the pillar of the Oyster collection. Initially for men, it became available in various models for women in the course of the following decade.
