Very smooth       - Smooth bezel Day Dates are something else, the simplicity of the case enhances the elegance and pronounces the beauty of the dial even more. Here’s a 1967 yellow gold Day Date in phenomenal condition with a razor sharp fat case and a crisp matching President bracelet in full length. The classic Sunburst Champagne Pie Pan dial is in mint condition and very appealing in this rare configuration. The clasp is engraved ‘La Residencia 1969’ and some research showed the result of a Spanish Horror movie with this name released in 1969. Further the Spanish day wheel lets us assume a connection to the movie, so far unproven but certainly possible. In any case a possible provenance probably wouldn’t increase the value of the watch but definitively the charm. An incredibly attractive 1802 that looks amazing on the wrist.

In 1956, the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date made its debut. Available only in 18 ct gold or platinum, it was the first wristwatch to display the date and day of the week spelt out in full in a window on the dial. With the President bracelet, originally created specially for it, the Day-Date continues to be the watch par excellence of influential people.

Rolex watches have long been associated with those who have, over time, guided the destiny of the world. No matter their vision, their domain of excellence, or their achievements, the one thing these exceptional men and women have in common is often their watch: the Day-Date.
