Description

Wonderful example of steel Patek Philippe Aquanaut ref. 5165A, sold in Paris in 2008. In 1996 Patek Philippe launched the very first Aquanaut with ref. 5060A which featured all the signature reference elements: stainless steel case, the recognisable checkerboard dial and a rubber strap. The eye-catching  design of this amazing reference was extremely sporty and contemporary. Introduced in 2007, marking the tenth anniversary of the Aquanaut, reference 5165 was manufactured only in steel and was produced for 5 years only, making it one of the most limited Aquanaut models produced. Reminiscent of the Nautilus, the present Aquanaut is fitted with a beautiful octagonal shaped bezel with alternating brushed and satin finish. The embossed texture of the dial runs over the watch and continues its way all throughout the “tropical” rubber strap, giving the watch its fresh, sporty look. One gets lost in the depth of its dial thanks to the thickness of the applied luminous material on the hour marks and on the white gold hands. Powered with the self-winding calibre 324 SC, with a power-reserve of circa 45 hours. The present example was sold by Patek Philippe Place Vendome in Paris in 2008 and it is accompanied by the original Patek Philippe guarantee.
