Description
PATEK PHILIPPE CALATRAVA REF. 2508 YELLOW GOLD The reference 2508 was the first Patek Philippe Calatrava model to feature a waterproof case. Launched in 1951 and produced for only 10 years circa, the reference 2508 is an icon of contemporary watchmaking. With its 35-mm case made by the famous case-maker Taubert, it is a watch as elegant as it is sporty, fitting the wrist with the utmost discretion. The model was made in both yellow and rose gold, as well as in stainless steel. The most sought after 2508 models by Patek Philippe collectors are the exceptionally well preserved examples like this one. This example of Patek Philippe Ref. 2508 is undoubtedly one of the best preserved examples on the market. The 18-karat yellow gold case has most likely never been polished and still features the original factory shapes with deep and well-defined hallmarks. The dial, which has never been restored, is in mint condition, and the raised hard enamel signature is completely intact, with no losses to the lettering and accent. The 27SC movement is in perfect working order and the leather strap is the original when the watch left the Patek Philippe retailer back in the 50's. Undoubtedly a unique example for those looking for a Patek Philippe 2508. Serial Number 696XXX/708XXX, Year Circa 50’s
