Description

King Fahad      - Middle Eastern Royals love to place their names or pictures on watch dials and given their influence they managed to get on big brands like Rolex and Patek Philippe. Here is a 1984 Rolex Datejust 16030 with a Silver dial bearing the Saudi Logo and name of the former King of Saudi Arabia, King Fahad on the dial. The watch is in beautiful vintage condition and comes in a nice collector's full set with original punched, dated and stamped warranty and box. Given the number of collectors of Middle Eastern Logo dials around the world this watch might not necessarily go back to Saudi Arabia but it has some charm if it goes back to the roots. In any case a beautiful collectible in a full set.

THE FIRST DATEJUST 1945

The year 1945 saw the birth of the Datejust, the first self‑winding wrist chronometer to indicate the date in a window on the dial. A watch of great distinction, the Datejust was equipped with a Jubilee bracelet created specially for it and a fluted bezel, making it immediately recognisable as a Rolex. It is the pillar of the Oyster collection. Initially for men, it became available in various models for women in the course of the following decade.
