Description

We think of Havana      -      This wonderful 18038 dates back to 1983 and is in stunning condition. The 18K yellow gold case is in superb condition and shows that it has not been worn much. The case remains well proportioned with rich and even lugs, the edges and bezel are very crisp. Looking at the overall proportions of the case  it is safe to say that this watch hasn't seen much wrist time. The gold has aged to a beautiful rose color which usually only happens when the watch has been stored for a very long time. Now to the highlight of this watch. The case is fitted with a Red Vignette Diamond dial, also called degrade dial because of the degrading color in the middle of the dial which becomes darker towards the edge of the dial. The warm rose color aged gold in combination with the Red Vignette dial is incredibly powerful. This is the kind of watch which is your companion on a nice cigar evening.

THE DAY-DATE 1956

In 1956, the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date made its debut. Available only in 18 ct gold or platinum, it was the first wristwatch to display the date and day of the week spelt out in full in a window on the dial. With the President bracelet, originally created specially for it, the Day-Date continues to be the watch par excellence of influential people.

LEADERSHIP

Rolex watches have long been associated with those who have, over time, guided the destiny of the world. No matter their vision, their domain of excellence, or their achievements, the one thing these exceptional men and women have in common is often their watch: the Day-Date.
