Description

Ivory Patina - this very crisp and mint example of a Rolex Submariner 1680 has it in it. The condition of this watch deserves a "wow" in every aspect. The case is fat and sharp with well defined and beautifully beveled lugs. The area between the lugs is unmolested and bears fully intact numbers. The almost flawless MK1 dial is retained very well. The Tritium has consistently aged to a Ivory color and is matching with the hands. The original and matching Oyster bracelet is in equally mint condition and only shows very little wear from age. Last but not least the bezel holds a Super Fat Font insert which complements the aesthetics of the dial. This 1680 will make you hold your breath, its one of the nicest we had.

The Rolex Submariner

The Rolex Submariner is without a doubt one of the most successful Rolex models in history. Not only because it more than aptly served its purpose as diver’s watch, although I am pretty sure only a small number of Submariners has ever seen a spat of water. Its appearance in several James Bond movies certainly helped as well. If you omit functionality and marketing, the Submariner success is mainly due to its elegance as a timeless dress watch. It’s just one of those watches you keep looking at, regardless of wanting to know the time of day. The Submariner was launched in 1953 and officially presented at the Basel Fair in 1954.
