All you need is a 5513       -       The Submariner 5513 is not only the most iconic dive watch but also the most iconic wrist watch of all times. With a production run of about 30 years its maybe the longest production run of any Rolex. The 5513 came in various case and dial variants but has never lost even a tad of DNA. This very example offered here dates back to 1970 and has a near flawless Serif dial. The surface is clean and neat, free of any tool marks, spots or discolorations. The lumes have aged to a vivid yellow color and matching the pearl on the beautifully aged gunmetal grey bezel insert with fat font numbers. The watch that never gets old, the iconic and unmistakable 5513.

Case Excellent stainless steel case that has been polished in the past and is showing light wear from age. The bezel is sharp and the original Fat Font insert has aged to a beautiful gunmetal grey.
Bracelet / Strap Excellent rivited C & I Oyster with moderate stretch from age. The bracelet has 11 links and clasp is dated 1/71
Dial Excellent and near flawless Serif dial crisp graphics. The original Tritium lumes have aged to a vivid yellow color.The hands have aged a few shades lighter

The Rolex Submariner

The Rolex Submariner is without a doubt one of the most successful Rolex models in history. Not only because it more than aptly served its purpose as diver’s watch, although I am pretty sure only a small number of Submariners has ever seen a spat of water. Its appearance in several James Bond movies certainly helped as well. If you omit functionality and marketing, the Submariner success is mainly due to its elegance as a timeless dress watch. It’s just one of those watches you keep looking at, regardless of wanting to know the time of day. The Submariner was launched in 1953 and officially presented at the Basel Fair in 1954.
