Watch details

Exceptionally handsome and entirely uncommon, this original wood dial Datejust has an understated, yet very distinct charm. “Stronger-looking than the average Datejust”, the dial is beautiful, with layers of color and texture that create an organic elegance. Note the elongated minute markers. Rolex’s wood dials are typically found on yellow gold Day-Dates, with gold printing, however this piece has silver printing, making it quite rare. It also boasts a lovely patina on the luminous hands. The Jubilee bracelet #62510H is newer. This piece will make a special addition to your wardrobe and might even encourage those who strictly collect professional models to branch out. 36mm. Stock 42692

THE FIRST DATEJUST 1945

The year 1945 saw the birth of the Datejust, the first self‑winding wrist chronometer to indicate the date in a window on the dial. A watch of great distinction, the Datejust was equipped with a Jubilee bracelet created specially for it and a fluted bezel, making it immediately recognisable as a Rolex. It is the pillar of the Oyster collection. Initially for men, it became available in various models for women in the course of the following decade.
