Excellent condition. Untouched case that has never been polished and shows very little wear. The lugs remain thick and sharp and the chamfers are clearly visible. The bezel shows sharp edges and a beautiful original insert. Perfect condition folded 9315 Oyster bracelet without stress, 315 links and “Pateted” extension. Serial and reference numbers are totally clear without any erosion. Caseback inscription still shows the original black painting, proving the little use given to the watch. Lovely Mark III dial showing a creamy patina that matches perfectly with the original tritium hands. Surface is nearly flawless but shows a few tiny chips along the edge at 12 o´clock which can hardly be appreciated to the naked eye. Original super domed Tropic 39 cristal. Accompanied by it´s original Rolex 1665 box.

1967 saw the launch of the Oyster Perpetual Sea-Dweller, waterproof to a depth of 610 metres. To meet the needs of professional deep-sea divers, the case was equipped with a helium escape valve so that, during long decompression phases in hyperbaric chambers, the helium from the gas mixtures used could be released without risking damage to the watch.
