Watch details

A sort of cult classic among vintage Rolex enthusiasts and a piece with truly distinctive character, the Rolex Oyster Quartz Datejust is a fun piece to add to your watch wardrobe that will encourage compliments from the initiated and novices alike. This piece is of particular note, as the once blue dial has turned purple. This model clearly represents the style that was popular in the late 1970s and 1980s, subtly mirroring the look of a Royal Oak or a Nautilus. This is a cool, unique and affordable vintage piece, accompanied by the original box and papers. 36mm. Circa 1980. Stock 36618

The year 1945 saw the birth of the Datejust, the first self‑winding wrist chronometer to indicate the date in a window on the dial. A watch of great distinction, the Datejust was equipped with a Jubilee bracelet created specially for it and a fluted bezel, making it immediately recognisable as a Rolex. It is the pillar of the Oyster collection. Initially for men, it became available in various models for women in the course of the following decade.
