Watch details

The epitome of a collectable stone dial Rolex on every level, the watch boasts a super desirable (and long discontinued) malachite dial on a ref. #18238 Day-Date in 18k yellow gold that has been preserved in mint condition- the original sticker is still on the watch case back. Furthering the allure is the accompaniment of the original box and papers. Most notable is the condition of the dial. Many malachite dials are crazed or cracked and some have lost a bit of the lustrous color over time. This dial, however, is in impeccable condition, boasting a rich green color and no evidence of crazing. Perfection! 36mm. Stock 38022

In 1956, the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date made its debut. Available only in 18 ct gold or platinum, it was the first wristwatch to display the date and day of the week spelt out in full in a window on the dial. With the President bracelet, originally created specially for it, the Day-Date continues to be the watch par excellence of influential people.

Rolex watches have long been associated with those who have, over time, guided the destiny of the world. No matter their vision, their domain of excellence, or their achievements, the one thing these exceptional men and women have in common is often their watch: the Day-Date.
