Watch details

This is such a great watch!! The matte brown pie pan dial with diamonds remains in mint condition with all lume dots intact. Further note the gorgeous warm patina on the luminous and on the original day- and date wheels. The case and original riveted Oyster bracelet are also in mint condition. And it comes with its original warranty booklet (the watch was sold at Bucherer in the Dominican Republic on May 22, 1971)! This handsome timepiece combines the fashion aesthetic of a vintage gold timepiece with the luxury of diamonds and the added twist of an Oyster bracelet, which we still see far less commonly on Day-Dates than the President bracelet. It’s wonderful. Ref. #1803. 18 karat yellow gold. 36mm. There is an engraving on the case back that matches an address sticker inside the original warranty booklet. We are not selling this watch as unpolished. Stock 44474

THE DAY-DATE 1956

In 1956, the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date made its debut. Available only in 18 ct gold or platinum, it was the first wristwatch to display the date and day of the week spelt out in full in a window on the dial. With the President bracelet, originally created specially for it, the Day-Date continues to be the watch par excellence of influential people.

LEADERSHIP

Rolex watches have long been associated with those who have, over time, guided the destiny of the world. No matter their vision, their domain of excellence, or their achievements, the one thing these exceptional men and women have in common is often their watch: the Day-Date.
